hi list,

the last two days a friend of mine (running 1.6.2_RC4 on i386) and i (both
for a SPARC64 running 1.6ZH and a SPARC running 1.6.2_RC4) experienced
trouble installing saslauthd.

in one case (i386), saslauth generated its rc script but was not able to
start due to problems writing its PID file (was easily fixed).

in the two other cases (it is not due to SPARCism, is it?! ;) no rc script
was generated while installing that package; this was fixed by copying it
from a box w/working saslauthd.

is this a known problem?

pkgsrc was cvs'ed up minutes before installing...

regards,

timo
