I know that WEP keys get put onto the card - some register.

Is there a way to see when someone tries to attach to an
access point - whether or not they succeed?

It appears to me that the card rejects the connections
and nothing gets past it. (eg. tcpdump -n -i ath0
shows nothing during a bad connection attempt).

This may be locked into the card and impossible, but
I dunno.
