Probably my observation is releated to the topic.
If I do 'find . -name qq' in some populated directory (say /usr/src)
then namecache hit rate falls significantly from 100% (I use make depend
for kernel build as a test) to around 80%. And that causes *big* slowdown
everywhere.
My userland is a month late though, if that matter, and I can't control
newish sysctl-able vars, and top/systat output is not entirely trustful.
