The short version of how to use pkg_comp goes along the lines of

pkg_comp maketemplate
vi $HOME/pkg_comp/default.conf
pkg_comp makeroot
pkg_comp build meta-pkgs/kde3
....
pkg_comp removeroot

Make sure you have nullfs in your kernel, and make sure you have the
install sets you wish to use handy before doing this.
