I've done an update yesterday evening from Oct 3, 2003 (kernel from
Oct 6, 2003) to Oct 15, 2003 evening, and it continued to work. My X sources
are also from Oct 3, 2003, compiled on that version.
What has your X version been before and what is it now?

... and also delete ~/.sversionrc and, if it exists, ~/.user60.rdb .
