How does the mtree code (used in pax) handle multiple entries for the
same target file in the METALOG file?

The reason I ask is I need to know which entry will be used in the case
where one uses "build.sh -U -u" to update $DESTDIR after having made
changes that cause one or more files to be re-installed and also
possibly having made changes to the permissions or ownerships of the
files installed. Which permissions and ownerships will be used to
create the new USTAR header when the release sets are made from the
resulting $DESTDIR?
