it seems to me that with

(1) a small tweak to src/lib/libkvm/Makefile
(2) a small makefile (9-12 lines?) in a place called src/lib/libkvm-ld
(3) a new sysctl called kern.lockdebug

and

(4) a line in /etc/ld.so.conf

we might be able to fix a lot of these problems.

or am i wrong?
