Oh, and what just happened: it can freeze the whole system, apparently
permanently (but my patience ended in 30 seconds, since even pings
didn't get through).

BTW, as I mentioned, I'm trying to run Windows 2000 in the virtual
machine. But I have also, with great success, run MS-DOS 6 and old
SSI RPG games on it: no freezes, no crashes. However, the DOS
situation is slightly different (dunno if this matters): I have set
that virtual machine to use only 32Mb of memory, and the disk in
VMWare is configured to a "real" disk (vnd0).
