Hi,
I have some filenames which contains SJIS kanas, at least I think its
a SJIS encoding.
Now I tried to share that with my Windows XP machine, but that doesn't
work correctly. It displays something, but thats not the correct mapping.
First I was using samba 2.2.8, but then i 'downgraded' to use ja-samba
2.2.4.1.0, that should be also updated to the latest available
version, which is right now samba-2.2.7a-ja + a fix for the latest
security problem.
I also tried to add some option in smb.conf:
coding system = sjis
client code page = 932
But that didn't fix the problem.
Searching the web to find out more about this problem wasn't so easy,
due too a lot of information was only available in japanese, but I
got the idea that this is a know problem, thats why I didn't use
send-pr at the moment.
Is that true that it doesn't work at the moment, or is there a way
to get the correct mapping.
And how can I find out what the real enconding of this files?
Bernd
