I have written a command line program to control /dev/radio and record
audio (and compress the audio in real time using lame). I can put the
quickly hacked sources on the web if there's interest..

Recording statistics:
 Start time 14:40:00 Stop time 16:00:00 Length 0 01:20:00
Sample rate 32000 Hz Real 32070 Hz Total 615743488 bytes
 Output file name "/s/me030104.mp3"
 Tuner freq 88.70 MHz "ylen1"
FIFO size 4096 kB Top usage 64 kB (1.5%)
Audio was encoded to mp3 format at 96 kbps
