Hello,

I think about connecting an IR receiver to my NetBSD
machine to control it via an IR remote control. 
I already looked at "lirc" which supports many different
receivers (I'd like to use a home brew device attachted
to the serial port) but seems to be available for LINUX
only. In the NetBSD package collection I found "libirman"
but it only supports the (commercial) IRMan device.
Finally, I looked at the cir device which seems to be
what I possibly need but the man page says "This device 
is not yet functional". So my question is: what is the
current state of this device? Is it already usable somehow
and what IR devices are (or will be) supported?
