I'm on a Dell L400, and I've had stalls. Card insert/remove, or apmd idler
on battery, and when I do a wakeup it comes good, mice freeze and then nada.

I did copy the /etc/apm/... files which do things like atactl. 

But, I also had badness inserting a wd<x> emulating SD card in PCMCIA
recently which caused me to stop/start network.

I'm using an Aironet.
