Yup - I did that, because I had exactly this problem on my iPaq with an
auvia audio chipset.  (The network appliance, not the handheld.)  The
systems look very similar at that level; both have two USB controllers,
similar audio, and so on.

Unfortunately, no effect in this case; there may be some magic to enabling
the USB ports "properly".
