In the BIOS, you can select the floppy disk type (1.2MB, 1.4MB, and so
on). I had that setting to "Disabled" as if I had no floppy drive.
The kernel showed, more or less the following:
fdc0 at isa0 port 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2
fd0 at fdc0 drive 0: unknown density
and now shows (with bios option set properly):
fdc0 at isa0 port 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2
fd0 at fdc0 drive 0: 1.44MB, 80 cyl, 2 head, 18 sec
BTW, I forgot to say that this is 1.6B.
