If it's an ISA card without Plug'n Play:
Most likely the IRQ the card uses doesn't match the IRQ the kernel thinks
the card uses. Find out what IRQ your card really uses and adjust your
kernel (ne0 at ....  line in config file) - or change the card's IRQ to
match your kernel.

Please post the dmesg output.
