Something seems strange with my accounting:

% last
prlw1 ttyp5 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 10:24 - 10:24 (00:00)
prlw1 ttyp7 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 10:19 - 10:24 (00:04)
prlw1 ttyp5 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 10:15 - 10:24 (00:08)
prlw1 ttyp6 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 10:12 - 10:12 (00:00)
prlw1 ttyp4 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 10:02 still logged in
prlw1 ttyp6 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 09:58 - 10:01 (00:02)
prlw1 ttyp4 :0.0 Wed Mar 06 09:50 - 10:01 (00:11)

wtmp begins Wed Mar 06 2002 09:50:09
% w
10:46AM up 13 days, 18:37, 4 users, load averages: 1.30, 1.25, 1.25
USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE WHAT
prlw1 p2 :0.0 9:49AM 0 vi /tmp/mutt-fred-6466-137
w: Stale utmp entry: prlw1 ttyp4 :0.0

ttyp2 is where I'm writing this email, and doesn't appear in "last" output -
can it be because login is 1 min before wtmp begins?

ttyp4 is where I ran "last" and "w", so why the Stale entry?

Is this worth worrying about?

Cheers,

Patrick
