You could create a package of my version of newsyslog.  It works fine on
versions all the way back to 1.3.2 and probably even before....

	ftp://ftp.weird.com/pub/local/newsyslog.tar.gz

(I haven't created a package for it because I've integrated it into my
own NetBSD source tree....)
