So, my laptop crashed.  And now, Mozilla won't remember certain
preferences; it always starts up with the sidebar, for instance.  It
used to not do this.

Can anyone suggest a likely explanation for how a crash could cause this?
It did wipe out my bookmarks.html file (inexplicably enough).

I'd like to point out that, to the best of my knowledge, this is my first
crash that produced measurable data loss since I started on NetBSD 0.8 (amiga)
in, uhm, whenever that was.
