How about IBSS Ad-hoc mode?

On Orinoco Gold:
  "Create IBSS" set On, and "Port type" set 1
On Linksys:
  "Port type" set 0

Please test it.

(Windows driver's Peer-to-Peer mode may be IBSS Ad-hoc mode)
