The "hoops" are not unreasonable. It's a short set of filenames:
aux{,.*}
clock${,.*}
com[1-9]{,.*}
con{,.*}
lpt[1-9]{,.*}
prn{,.*}
filenames with characters from the set [<>:"/\\|]
Cleaning this up did not impact us significantly; it's Done already.
You made your point. We (== developers with commit access) rejected your
point, because some of us actually do care about cross-development on the
OS in question. Please stop ranting now so we can focus on constructive
work.
