I couldn't seem to get it working following your instructions... however,
I'm still getting what I believe is full speeds with rp-pppoe.

Oh, and a kernel with 'pseudo-device pppoe' panics when I try to use
rp-pppoe. Thought you might like to know that :-)

Maybe I did something wrong.. I would much rather use the in-kernel pppoe
than this garbage, but I need something that works in the mean-time.
