hi.
i've been working on a portable version of NetBSD's ftpd, called
`lukemftpd' in the same vein as `lukemftp'.
the purpose of this software is to provide the NetBSD-current ftpd to
older NetBSD systems and to foreign systems such as Solaris, Linux, ...
the first release version is available at:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/lukemftp/lukemftpd-1.0.tar.gz
to feedback problems, please email me at lukem@netbsd.org, with the
following info:
system version (e.g, `uname -a`)
compiler and version (`which cc`, `cc -v`)
enjoy!
why does this exist when wu-ftpd (and derivatives) already exist?
- it has had less security holes (there have been problems,
but not as many)
- cleaner configuration (IMHO)
- smaller (1/3rd the size of wuftpd with ~90% of the options)
