Interesting...  However, IBSS mode is not what a base station does.
What would be *really* cool is for someone to figure out how to put
a wireless NIC into true base station mode.  That way, I could shoe-
horn NetBSD into all of those Apple base stations that they've been
installing all over my campus...

From what I've seen, it appears that the docs that describe how to
initiate true base station mode are a very closely guarded secret.
Nobody that I've heard of has created open-source code to turn a
wireless NIC into a real base station.
