I managed to get the driver working under 1.5.1_ALPHA (sources checked
out in the last week or so), but I needed to comment out the 
case statement involving PCI_VENDOR_ESSTECH2 at line 1246 in maestro.c.

I've got sound on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite 2140CDS).  :-)
