In 1.4.2/1.4.3 I used to be able to type

  telnet 0

and that would connect to my own system. This is true with several
other unix platforms.

I notice this doesn't work on i386/1.5_ALPHA2

Was this accidentally broken, done on purpose or just something wrong
with my config?

Also, I'm considering going from ALPHA2 to BETA2. Is the upgrade
trivial?
