I have the 1.5 BETA2 i386 arch.  I am working with Compaq Armada laptop
(intel 586 266Mhz)

I started with the GENERIC_LAPTOP kernel config and began shaving off
hardware and options I don't currently need.  I will attach it and let you
see what I have done.
