The airport doesn't take an external antenna.  Not a problem when
you're using it to replace internal wiring.   The airport costs $300 -
about $100 more than the 802.11 card you'd plug into the PC.   Cheap
PCs are big and noisy.   So you're going to have to spend a lot of
money if you want the same degree of convenience.   :'(
