with help from "R. C. Dowdeswell" <elric@imrryr.org>
we found that GENERIC kernel file needs to have all references to 'tga'
commented out. i think there were 2 references. that was needed to get my
alpha w/ a PowerStorm 4D20 to boot with the new kernel. otherwise the
kernel would stop

the PowerStorm 4D20 had the VGAEN jumber enabled.
