How odd. When I was using the raylink aviator cards I saw only
~240Kbyte/s with an ftp. When I was testing with the wavelans I was
actually using the isa->pcmcia bridge card that came with the
aviators, I got about 500kbytes/sec then. I have just changed my
bridge card to a different brand and I still get about 500kbytes/sec
with the wavelans. Perhaps it is the laptop that has a sucky pcmcia
interface.
I cannot say if cardbus on the laptop would improve things at all, my
laptop still crashes if I put the PCIBIOS option in the config file.
