Despite the BSD fashion of hating the SysV rc.d structure, you'll never bury
it, just as Khrushchev never buried capitalism. The reason is simple: as
this discussion shows, it fills a definite need for a lot of folks.

Come up with something *better* that fills the need, and you'll bury the
older implementation. Ignore the need, and you'll get run over.
