The number should be one that orders the shutdown of services
appropriately ;-)  That means you want the nfs services shutdown
before the networking goes down so you would do K06nfs.server and
K07network (for example)

Oooooh I dunno - that is pretty subjective.  I find both styles to be
about the same to manage and I have had to resort to editing system rc
files on BSD style systems too.
