I made some changes to the *BSD-bktr-driver which the maintainer
(roger@freebsd.org) integrated back (including bus_spacing it). It's
been tested (and found working) on 1.4.2/i386 and a recent
current/i386; a detailed description how to get it running on 1.4.2 is
included, the changes for -current are very similar (different major
device number, and the included patch for 1.4.2 will have to be
slightly modified).

It's available at
telepresence.dmem.strath.ac.uk /pub/bt848/snapshot/2.11

I'm planning on importing it into the kernel sometime soon, but still
have to go over it at least once before doing that.

fxtv works with it, (some minor patching for header files and
unsupported remote needed).

Hope this helps,
 Thomas
