I've been meaning to ask if the changes might be committed. My BP6
system has been running with the patch which I posted to current-users
on 15th March, booted from a disk on the HPT366. The system has now
been running for over 3 weeks, with no problems and periodically I've
done something like ls -lR / or built a kernel to exercise the disk.

With the 15th March patches, both channels work and I can get two
drives to work at different I/O modes on the same channel. However, I
am still afraid that running with anything other than one of the
supported PCI bus speeds (25, 33, 40 MHz) could be very dangerous (and
25 and 40 MHz might be dangerous, as I haven't been able to verify the
tuning parameters for those bus speeds obtained from the Linux driver).

I still haven't heard anything from Highpoint Technology in reply to my
request for technical documentation.

Roger
