You can disable rewriting /etc/resolv.conf by writing a
/etc/dhclient-enter-hooks and defining a shell function,
make_resolv_conf, which does nothing.   /etc/dhclient-enter-hooks is
never overwritten by a make build.   /etc/dhclient-script is, as
you've noted, not intended to be a configuration file.
