Hi

What is the canonical way of identifying whether 
a NetBSD system is primarily an elf or a.out 
system? Release numbers don't seem to be the way 
to go, due to the staged deployment across 
different ports.

I'm toying with something a little like ld --
version | grep -i elf but it's a bit ugly and I 
suppose potentially incorrect, if you've got 
multiple binutils on your system.
