I seem to be having the same problem with a 3C589D card on my ThinkPad
560 except that I can get it to work if I boot with the 19991113 release
but when I try building a -current kernel I get the same problem.

I notice that the boot disk that works gives me irq 5 but the kernel I
build gives me irq 9.

Ditto except a different NetBSD instead of Linux.
I am copying current-users as well since I am seeing it in -current.
