I installed 1.4.2_ALPHA on an Alphaserver 1000 yesterday. It works just
fine otherweise, but name resolving is really weird. Using eg. host(1),
w(1), telnet(1) dns works just fine, but last(1) doesn't give me any
names, just the ip's.

The most peciliar software of the bunch is ssh, which doesn't do any
name resolving whatsoever. According to a ktrace, it never even reads
resolv.conf. Using different name servers makes no difference.

nethack:~> host ftp.netbsd.org
ftp.netbsd.org has address 204.152.184.75
nethack:~> ssh -v ftp.netbsd.org
SSH Version 1.2.27 [alpha--netbsd], protocol version 1.5.
Standard version. Does not use RSAREF.
nethack.cs.hut.fi: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config
nethack.cs.hut.fi: Connecting to ftp.netbsd.org [255.255.255.255] port 22.

nethack:~> ssh -v 204.152.184.75
SSH Version 1.2.27 [alpha--netbsd], protocol version 1.5.
Standard version. Does not use RSAREF.
nethack.cs.hut.fi: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config
nethack.cs.hut.fi: Connecting to 204.152.184.75 [204.152.184.75] port 22.
nethack.cs.hut.fi: Connection established.

Here's nsswitch.conf:
group: compat
group_compat: nis
hosts: dns files
netgroup: files [notfound=return] nis
networks: files
passwd: compat
passwd_compat: nis

Does anyone have even a clue of how to resolve (pun intended) this? My
other NetBSD(-current) machines in the same network work just great wrt
dns.
