   It seems, the amd call in rc got moved, so that it can be run only after
   enabling NFS_clients. Do I really need nfsiod for local amd mounts like
   CD-ROM drives? If not, why do I have to enable it?



the current /etc/rc does indeed seem to be bugged; amd should not
*need* nfs servers running as it doesn't require their operation
as you show.  please send-pr this so it does not get forgotten.
