Subject: C++ problems on i386

I'm trying to compile the xosview package on a -current i386 system, and
when the configure script gets to the "checking whether the C++ compiler
works" part, I get:

configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler
cannot create executables.

It looks like the link is failing:
dahan ~> cat bla.cpp
int main(){return 0;}
dahan ~> c++ bla.cpp
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so: undefined reference to `__vt$8stdiobuf'
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so: undefined reference to `__vt$7filebuf'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

dahan ~> nm /usr/lib/libstdc++.so | egrep 'vt.*stdiobuf|vt.*filebuf'
         U __vt$7filebuf
         U __vt$8stdiobuf
000346a0 D __vt_7filebuf
00033f60 D __vt_8stdiobuf

I've recompiled libstdc++, but it didn't help. Any ideas?
