Now that there is an increasing number of devices we can attach and detach
from our machines while powered up (USB, PCMCIA, etc), and judging by
mailing list traffic the last few weeks, we even have detachable SCSI
busses, how close are we to being able to detach network devices?
What work needs to be done to allow this?

What I'm *most* interested in is being able to hotswap PCMCIA network devices,
but I suspect it's all related...
