OK, I agree that such a change must be well tested.

If the interface is simply overloaded by some bursts,
it is likely to help.
[interrupt sharing]
If it happend with any of your cards if it is exposed to
the load, it is less likely to be an interrupt sharing issue.

That's strange. The card gets a receive overrun. Are you
sure there is nothing coming in?
