Actually, taking a closer look, upsd doesn't appear to support the BackUPS
(needs the "smart" communications).  I'm currently going to try FreeBSD's
bkpupsd package, since that seems to be _extremely_ simple and interfaces to
the BackUPS.

Please do let me know if the upsd that you have supports the BackUPS (not
the Pro models).
