I laso have problems on 3 different machines. Under moderate to havy load
processes core dump, or the kernel panic with a bad pointer somewhere.

Usually compiling a kernel with 'make' or 'make -j3' will work.
but 'make -j24' will usually leave me with at last one core dump of cpp or
cc1 (I have 64 or 80Mb RAM).
I see this on IDE only, SCSI only or IDE+SCSI boxes, with or without
a MFS /tmp.
A 'make -j24' in text mode usually just gives processes core dump,
where the same command in a xterm while running X can lead to a panic
more reliably.
I think this problem is there since before 1.4, but has been worse lately, I
guess a change somewhere has just waken it up.
My sparc or sun3 doesn't seem to suffer from this problem (however as I only
have 16MB RAM I don't use make -j24 often :)

I have a few kernel core dump but I've not been able to extract anything
usefull yet.
