Subject: how to run xdm

Hello,

I had problem in using the xdm and the error is as followings.  I want the xdm
as login and then start the kde after login.   Can anyone help ?  Thanks

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages
xdm error (pid 234): IO Error in XOpenDisplay
xdm error (pid 230): Display :0 cannot be opened
