     I noticed in the discussion of this thread, nobody mentioned the
btree directory structure.  Due to the way directories are created in
ffs, it performs very poorly with directories that have a lot of
entries (i.e. 50,000).  But, since xfs uses a btree directory
structure, it has no problems with much larger directories.  That would
be a neat feature to have.
