The 1.4 man page sets for the i386 turn out to have been built
incorrectly with a latin1 charset instead of ASCII. The sources were
fine -- it was pilot error during the build.

They have now been replaced with "corrected" man pages. I know this is 
a bit Orwellian, but we haven't officially announced the release yet
and the damage was real and rather ugly.

If you've downloaded those sets, please download again. If you have a
mirror site running, please re-trigger your mirror software so that we 
get in sync as soon as possible.
