No go with my NextGen MB  Nx586  (fpu-less 386 class CPU) system 
using the May 4 image that Frank van der Linden put up on 
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/i386/1.4-install/. 
I still get bus errors with ping, etc.
