Making /etc/X11 and /var/X11 seems like a bad idea to me. While the actual
structure may not be perfect, the idea of having /usr/{X11R6,local,pkg} is
to keep all that cruft away from the base system.
do i put *system* configuration files in /usr/local or /usr/pkg ? no.
why should i put them in /usr/X11R6 ? as far as NetBSD goes, it *is*
part of the base system...
as for the authfiles, they *must* go in /var -- /usr is not writable for
most of my machines, and having X write there by default is just a PITA.
