I just got back from a weekend trip, and built a new kernel. Trying to
run startx gives me:

This is on i386, supped freshly a short time ago.

For kicks, I downloaded the X stuff from the 1.4_BETA directory on the
ftp site and reinstalled xbase and xserver to no avail.

Anyone see this before? Have I missed something obvious?

Thanks in advance... I'm going back to my 1.4_ALPHA kernel for now.
