Can I deposit that geometry into the BSD disklabel while keeping the
real fake geometry ("what???") in the DOS MBR label?

Anyway, I still think newfs was changed at some point, because this partition
is _already_ in use with supposedly illegal geometry.

Hmm, yet another incentive to play with new filesystem layouts like I've
been thinking about for some time...
